The Roman Baths in the city of Bath “Bath” is one of the famous attractions for tourists who visit this English city in order to get a glimpse of history. “Bath” as the name signifies is a city which is named after the number of Roman baths that it has. Every year millions of tourists visit the city of Bath in order to enjoy viewing the awesome designs of Roman baths which are situated in the city center. Most of us may find this surprising however it is true that in the olden days bathing used to be a social event where people used to socialize at the public Roman baths. These baths were accessible by all however people had to pay a nominal fee in order to have the permission for using these baths. The money that was collected as the fee for bathing in the Roman baths used to be managed by the Government and was spent on the maintenance of these huge Roman baths. All the Roman baths were meant for bathing as well as socializing and people from different walks of life came to the Roman baths in order to meet their friends and acquaintances. Over a period of time the Government also had a few gardens which were made for the people to enjoy the company of their friends after having a bath in the Roman bath. This further promoted the idea of socializing while bathing and after bathing in the Roman baths. While all this information may prompt some of us to actually bath in the Roman baths, these ancient baths are now not open for people to bathe. The building structures around the Roman baths allow visitor to have a peek into the history of United Kingdom by visiting the museum however they can only view the marvelous Roman bath from the restaurant which is situated in the building which surrounds the Roman bath.
